Small Fire Erupts in Frontierland at Disneyland

A small fire broke out and was quickly extinguished at Disneyland Dec. 29, Sgt. Jacob Gallacher with the Anaheim Police Department told The Epoch Times.

The park was closed when the fire ignited at around 3:30 a.m. Thursday in a 12-by-12-foot structure next to the New Orleans Square train station in Frontierland.

The structure that caught fire serves as a decorative facade and break room for park employees.

According to Gallacher, Disneyland’s fire department requested Anaheim fire and rescue assistance in extinguishing the blaze, which took about 15 minutes.

There were no injuries.

The only damage was to the structure and a nearby water tower used to refill the train station’s steam engines.

Authorities cleared the scene just before 6 a.m. and the trains were running as usual by the park’s opening.

“It was just a small fire and everyone did their job to make sure it was quickly managed,” Gallacher said.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation, he said.
