Biden’s bark about Hunter, Kamala’s latest ‘wisdom’ and more

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This growl:

The Post (Wednesday): How involved were you in your son’s Chinese shakedown text message? Were you sitting there? Were you involved?

President Biden (turning away, laughing): No, I wasn’t and I don’t . . .

The Post: Were you?

Biden (snapping): No!

We say: Perhaps the prez’s CPAP strap’s a bit too tight: He’s clearly losing his cool.

The question, after all, was perfectly reasonable: In messages provided to the House Ways and Means Committee, Biden’s son Hunter threatened a Chinese associate, warning, “I am sitting here with my father” and the two of them would make the man “regret” it if he didn’t follow Hunter’s direction.

Gee, wonder why Biden got so defensive about it. . . .

This gripe:

“Some have chosen to attack the integrity of the Justice Department . . . by claiming that we do not treat like cases alike. . . . Nothing could be further from the truth.”

— Attorney General Merrick Garland, Friday

We say: Garland’s got some nerve to whine about public concern over DOJ “integrity” after whistleblowers have come forward to cite political interference in probes involving first son Hunter Biden and potentially President Biden.

And that’s after Hunter got a sweetheart plea deal that numerous defendants who committed similar offenses and got far harsher sentences would long for.

Oh, and after potential perjury before Congress by the AG himself.

Does Garland think Americans should simply ignore all that?

This boast:

“The US has the highest economic growth rate, leading the world economy since the pandemic.”

— President Biden, Wednesday

We say: It’s never clear where Biden gets his numbers from — or if he just makes them up.

But the IMF lists numerous nations with higher growth rates in 2023 than the US, with countries like India and China far ahead. Per the Bureau of Economic Analysis, first quarter annual US growth was a meager 1.3%, far below the 3.13% average annual growth since 1948.

And much of the “growth” since the pandemic has been recovering from lockdowns, not real growth.

Worse, the trend is now down, with first quarter results plunging from the previous quarter, after having already dropped from the quarter before.

This word salad:

“Let’s always take a moment to also see what we have achieved thus far, while we clearly see the moment that we are presently in. So we have achieved a lot.”

— Vice President Kamala Harris, Friday

Vice President Kamala Harris gave a confusing speech at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC on June 23, 2023.

We say: Clearly, one of America’s greatest orators. (Not.)

And to think the country is a heartbeat away from having Harris in charge of its nuclear codes.

This story:

“The complicated relationship between a presidential father and a struggling son”

— The Washington Post, June 21

We say: The WaPo joined other left-leaning outlets in trying to shift the story from Biden family corruption and Justice Department efforts to avoid serious prosecution into a teary-eyed tale of a father and his “struggling” son.

The New York Times, ABC, MSNBC and others offered similar takes. Call it the new journalism, where the goal isn’t to print the truth but to distract from it when it inconveniences the left.
