Dershowitz Expresses Lack of Confidence in Justice Being Served in Trump Case During Newsmax Interview

Former Harvard Law School professor and author Alan Dershowitz, who identifies as an “anti-Trump voter” and a liberal Democrat, believes that the cases against former President Donald Trump are unjustified and are examples of political persecution. Dershowitz expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the prosecution has been conducted and questioned whether justice will be served in the District of Columbia, where the case is being heard. He criticized U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is presiding over the case, stating that she has a bias against Trump and has a history of anti-Trump decisions. Dershowitz suggested that the case should be moved to a different location and assigned to a judge who has no connections to Trump or Biden, as the appearance of justice is crucial in such a high-profile and controversial case. He also criticized Chutkan’s previous association with a law firm that he described as having a record of conflicts of interest. Dershowitz emphasized that as a former president and potential 2024 GOP front-runner, Trump deserves a fair trial that is above reproach.
