Dick Morris Tells Newsmax: DeSantis’ Ineffective Messaging is Damaging
Political author Dick Morris warned that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis needs to develop a strong message for his presidential campaign or risk losing support from major donors. Despite his record as governor, DeSantis has failed to attract donors, and Morris warns that once donors start leaving, it is difficult to reverse that trend. DeSantis also needs to attract other major donors to his campaign, according to Morris. Robert Bigelow, a megadonor and founder of Bigelow Aerospace, advises DeSantis to adopt a more moderate campaign in order to gain support from the electorate. Bigelow cited DeSantis’ “extreme stances” on policies such as the six-week abortion ban as a reason for his decision to cut funding. Morris argues that DeSantis has not had a clear message for his campaign, leading to a decline in support since January. DeSantis has tried various campaign strategies, including emphasizing his record as governor, positioning himself as a more civil alternative to former President Donald Trump, and promoting his right-leaning stance on abortion. Despite objections from some donors, Bigelow believes that DeSantis is the best candidate for the country.
