Senator Feinstein Briefly Hospitalized Following Home Fall
Senator Dianne Feinstein was briefly hospitalized on Tuesday night after falling in her San Francisco home. The 90-year-old California Democrat experienced a minor fall and was released from the hospital within a few hours after her scans came back clear. Feinstein has been dealing with health issues in recent years, including a serious bout of shingles that kept her away from work for three months. She also suffered complications from the shingles that caused facial paralysis, vision and balance impairments, and encephalitis. Despite calls for her to retire, Feinstein remains determined to continue serving in the Senate until the end of her current term in January 2025. She has been relying on a team of aides for help on Capitol Hill. Feinstein has been in politics for several decades, serving as mayor of San Francisco from 1978-88 and first elected to the Senate in 1992.
