Campaign Adviser for Rep. Santos Indicted by the Biden DOJ, Accused of Accepting Pay
An adviser for Representative George Santos has been indicted by President Joe Biden’s Justice Department for impersonating a top aide to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Samuel Miele has been charged with wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. Santos himself is facing charges for looting his campaign coffers and lying to Congress. Despite these legal troubles, Santos intends to fight to keep his congressional seat. Miele allegedly claimed to be McCarthy’s Chief of Staff in communications with donors. This case has received criticism from Rep. Dan Goldman for McCarthy’s alleged protection of Santos.
