More than 1,600 Scientists Affix Their Signatures to ‘Declaration Opposing Climate Emergency’

International scientists have come together to sign a declaration rejecting the notion of a climate crisis and asserting the benefits of carbon dioxide for the Earth. The Global Climate Intelligence Group (CLINTEL) released their World Climate Declaration in August, stating that there is no climate emergency and calling for a more scientific approach to climate science and policy. So far, 1,609 scientists and professionals from around the world, including 321 from the United States, have signed the declaration.
In their declaration, CLINTEL highlights the historical variability of Earth’s climate and the fact that the planet has experienced both warm and cold phases throughout its existence. They argue that the recent period of warming is not surprising given this historical context. The group also criticizes climate models for exaggerating the impact of greenhouse gases and failing to acknowledge the beneficial effects of carbon dioxide. They emphasize that carbon dioxide is essential for all life on Earth and contributes to the growth of global plant biomass and crop yields.
Additionally, CLINTEL rejects the claim that global warming is causing an increase in natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, and droughts, stating that there is no statistical evidence to support this claim. The group opposes the proposed net-zero CO2 policy for 2050 and instead advocates for adaptation measures.
Two Nobel laureates, physicists John Francis Clauser and Ivan Giaever, are among the signatories of the CLINTEL declaration. Clauser has highlighted the role of cumulus clouds in regulating the Earth’s temperature, which he believes current climate models underestimate. He has also expressed disagreement with President Joe Biden’s climate policies.
The declaration from CLINTEL counters the doomsday predictions made by climate alarmists over the years and reflects a growing skepticism towards the popular narrative of global warming. The topic of climate change has become a significant issue in the 2024 presidential race, with candidates from both the Democratic and Republican parties expressing skepticism or outright dismissal of the climate change narrative.
The influence of climate change policies on daily life is also apparent, with regulations and restrictions being imposed on various aspects, such as energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs. The Biden administration has already implemented a ban on incandescent light bulbs, and proposals for more energy-efficient ceiling fans and gas stoves have been put forward. These policies have faced criticism for their potential economic impact and infringement on personal choice.
