Oklahoma Governor Stitt Tells Newsmax: Border Control Now Seen as a ‘Bipartisan Matter’

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt spoke to Newsmax about the southern border crisis, stating that it has become a bipartisan issue that is not just about immigration. Stitt mentioned that cities overwhelmed with illegal immigration are facing difficulties with taxation and social services. Republican governors, led by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, have been transporting migrants from the southern border to Democrat-run cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City, which have struggled to handle the influx of migrants. Stitt emphasized the need for a legal process for entry into the country and reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy that was canceled by President Biden. He also highlighted the impact of fentanyl flowing into Oklahoma from the U.S.-Mexico border and the increase in fentanyl-related deaths in the state. Stitt expressed his frustration with the Biden administration’s handling of the border issue and stated that he and other Republican governors are working to enforce the law and protect their states.
