Biden Faces Criticism for Exiting Medal of Honor Ceremony

President Joe Biden received criticism on social media after leaving the ceremony quickly following the presentation of the Medal of Honor to Army Capt. Larry Taylor. The incident occurred at the White House on Tuesday. While Chaplain Brig. Gen. William Green Jr. was delivering the closing benediction, President Biden left the ceremony. Many individuals expressed their disapproval of Biden’s actions on Twitter, including former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan and Rep. Wesley Hunt. Some speculated that Biden’s departure was due to confusion or forgetfulness, referencing past incidents such as when he appeared to check his watch during a ceremony for U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan. The official video released by the White House does not include the benediction. Taylor, a distinguished helicopter pilot, was awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery during a battle in Vietnam in 1968. He risked his life to rescue a four-man patrol group while under intense ground fire.
