Potential impeachment inquiry looms over Joe Biden’s family business dealings
US President Joe Biden could potentially face an impeachment inquiry due to his family’s business dealings.
US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has announced that he is instructing committees to initiate a formal investigation into what he describes as a “culture of corruption.”
McCarthy stated that “House Republicans have uncovered significant and credible allegations regarding President Biden’s behavior” in recent months.
Republicans, who currently have a narrow majority in the House, have accused Mr. Biden of benefiting financially from his son Hunter Biden’s foreign business ventures during his time as vice president from 2009 to 2017. However, they have not yet provided supporting evidence.
