Speculation of Third-Party Presidential Bid Fueled by Pro-Hogan PAC Ad
Reports from the Washington Examiner suggest that the America United PAC, led by former Maryland Republican Gov. Larry Hogan, has released a new advertisement focused on foreign policy, fueling speculation of a potential third-party presidential bid in the 2024 election.
Hogan serves as a national co-chairman of No Labels, an organization that has formed a political party and may nominate a candidate for the 2024 presidential election, particularly if President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are their party’s nominees.
The latest advertisement, titled “Allies,” features footage of attacks by Russia on Ukraine and the terrorist organization Hamas on Israel, along with Hogan’s remarks on U.S. responses and criticisms of others in his party, including Trump.
The ad contrasts Hogan directly with Trump, showing news coverage of a comment the former president allegedly made calling South Koreans “terrible people,” followed by footage of Hogan expressing support for the partnership with South Koreans.
These direct criticisms of Trump have sparked speculation of a potential third-party presidential run by Hogan, despite his previous statement that he would not join the Republican primary race.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the former governor has explicitly said he does not rule out a third-party run for next year’s election.
