Trump: Democrats’ Resistance to Voter ID Reveals Their True Intentions
Former President Donald Trump criticized Democrats’ opposition to voter identification requirements on Tuesday, labeling it as “the biggest giveaway” of their alleged intention to manipulate ballot boxes.
In a series of video statements posted to Truth Social, Trump said, “No radical left Democrat politician has ever been able to explain why their party is so rabidly opposed to Voter ID — and that’s the biggest giveaway of all that they are cheating on a monumental scale. They don’t want voter ID because they want to cheat.”
Trump also denounced Democrats’ argument that “voter ID is racist” and called it “offensive” for attempting to suggest that voters are incapable of obtaining a photo ID.
Trump cited polls showing that “over 80% of Americans” support voter ID requirements and criticized every single Democrat in the House of Representatives for voting to ban voter ID nationwide in the last Congress.
He added that only “two things are scared” in the anti-democracy party: “Open borders and no voter ID,” which he believes are tied to fraudulent activities to support the Democrats’ agenda.
Trump concluded his video statement by expressing his intention to “launch a nationwide campaign to get voter ID in every federal, state, and local election” when he is reelected, aiming for “safe elections again.”
