Senator Fetterman Teases Senator Menendez with Santos Video
According to NBC News, Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., has taken his trolling of indicted Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., to a new level by hiring recently ousted Rep. George Santos to record a sarcastic video targeting Menendez.
Fetterman used the app Cameo to pay Santos for the video and then posted it on X, stating that he believed Menendez needed some encouragement given his legal troubles, so he hired an expert on the matter to give him advice.
Santos reposted Fetterman’s tweet, expressing his amusement and stating that he wished he knew the “Bobby” in question.
In the Cameo video, Santos advised Menendez to stand his ground and not be discouraged by his critics.
Santos charges $200 for a personal video, and Fetterman’s Senate office confirmed that the video was paid for with campaign funds.
When asked about the Cameo video, Menendez responded by criticizing Fetterman for enriching Santos and joking that he was surprised Fetterman didn’t ask his parents for the money.
Fetterman was the first Democrat senator to call for Menendez’s resignation, and now more than half of the caucus has joined him in doing so.
Menendez has been charged by federal prosecutors with multiple offenses, including conspiracy to commit bribery and conspiracy to commit extortion. He has denied any wrongdoing.
The House voted to expel Santos, who is facing a 23-count federal indictment for charges including wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
