The Ineffective Efforts of Eric Adams’ “Tough” Approach on Migrants in Controlling the Influx
In another indication that the refusal to address the main causes won’t solve New York City’s illegal migrant crisis, buses filled with “asylum seekers” have diverted from the Port Authority to the Secaucus rail terminal, just a quick train ride from the city. (source)
Mayor Adams’ orders requiring buses to provide 36 hours’ notice and only drop off during business hours are being ignored. (source)
The city has been deluged for two main reasons: President Biden’s decision to allow “asylum seekers” and New York City’s commitment to caring for any indigent person who requests housing, as well as providing free food, health care, and more.
Adams blames the federal government for not sending the city cash to help cover its migrant expenses, but won’t criticize Biden for opening the border. (source)
The fundamental problem is that as long as Biden “paroles” the illegal migrants, they have every legal right to go wherever they want, and lefty advocates are eager to fight to protect those rights in court.
Advocates and charities have done more to help migrants get to New York City than Texas Governor Greg Abbott has. The “homeless advocates” complex is also fighting against Adams’ efforts to slightly limit the “right to shelter,” and it has an excellent chance of winning. (source)
As long as Adams won’t confront the progressive shibboleths behind the city’s migrant mess, his “boldest” moves will keep on failing.
