Rand Paul: Fauci Deserves Prison Time for Deceiving Congress

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been the subject of intense criticism recently. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., believes that Fauci is responsible for the deaths of “somewhere between 10 and 20 million” worldwide from the COVID-19 pandemic and should be held accountable. According to Paul, at the very least, Fauci should go to jail for lying to Congress. Paul stated, “For his dishonesty, frankly, he should go to prison” during an interview on Sunday’s “The Cats Roundtable.” He went on to say that “If you lie to Congress, and you’re dishonest, and you won’t accept responsibility, you should never be accepted and should be judged as a deficient person who made one of the worst decisions in public health history.”

In his book “Deception: The Great COVID Cover-Up,” Paul detailed allegations about how Fauci helped the U.S. government fund the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Paul believes that funding the lab in Wuhan ultimately led to the pandemic: “It was ultimately a mistake funding the lab in Wuhan that led to the pandemic,” he stated. He also criticized Fauci for not taking responsibility for this decision, which Paul believes is “probably the worst decision ever made by a public health official in the history of time.”

Paul highlighted Fauci’s evasive responses when questioned by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. Fauci reportedly claimed over 100 times that he couldn’t recall or remember various details related to the pandemic. In particular, Fauci admitted that he approved all research at the Wuhan lab but stated that he didn’t read it. Paul accused Fauci of being responsible for allowing the U.S. to fund dangerous research at the lab, which involved combining viruses and making them more lethal and effective.

Paul also criticized the Democrats for protecting and hailing Fauci for his pandemic work, suggesting that they see him as a symbol of big government, and protecting him goes against their entire philosophy.

Fauci, on the other hand, has denied any criminal liability for his statements made to Congress. He questioned what he could be prosecuted for, stating, “Prosecute me for what?”
