Rep. Van Drew Urges Newsmax to Prioritize Deposing Hunter
Representative Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., said on Newsmax that it’s more important to depose Hunter Biden than to hold him in contempt for defying a congressional subpoena.
“It’s more important to get the deposition, to get the facts, to get the information,” Van Drew said on “Newsline.”
He added, “There’s so much, there’s a plethora of information we need to know about this man and what he’s done and, most of all, about his businesses and how money — millions upon millions — have gone to his father and his family from all sources. … He needs to be deposed.”
House Republicans halted their plans to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for defying a congressional subpoena. The contempt resolution was set to be advanced to the House floor on Tuesday, but was called off to give attorneys more time to reach an agreement.
An attorney for Hunter Biden indicated a willingness to cooperate with Republicans’ ongoing impeachment inquiry following months of defiance, but maintained that cooperation is dependent on the committee issuing a new subpoena.
