Betting Odds on GOP VP Pick Released by Online Sportsbook

The online sportsbook Bovada this week released its betting odds for who will emerge as the Republican vice presidential nominee in the upcoming 2024 presidential nomination.

The most likely choice, according to Bovada, is South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem, who has odds of +300, meaning that a bet of $100 on her being selected as the GOP nominee’s running mate would win $300 if correct.

Noem was followed by former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson, and Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., who tied for third. Their scores:

• Noem +300
• Ramaswamy +600
• Carson +700
• Stefanik +700

Former President Donald Trump, the current front-runner for the GOP nomination, is himself rated a less likely choice than his own former vice president, Mike Pence: Trump +8,000, Pence +5,000.

Other possible choices with less-likely odds include Alabama GOP Sen. Katie Britt, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who is also vying for the GOP presidential nomination, and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, all with odds of +1,000.

Several of Trump’s and Haley’s other current or former rivals for the presidency, including Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., are also listed as possible contenders for the VP slot, as are several celebrities, including controversial rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye; former NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Peyton Manning; and comedian podcast host Joe Rogan:

Bovada also suggests that two of Trump’s children, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, are equally likely to be selected to serve as his running mate at odds of +10,000.
