Senator Graham is placed on Russia’s list of suspected terrorists
According to the Russian state-sponsored Tass News Agency, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has been added to Russia’s terror watch list.
Graham, who is known for his neocon stance on Russia, was added to a list of “extremists and terrorists” after he suggested the United States designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism following the death of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny.
In a tweet on Sunday, Graham called for Russia to be designated a state sponsor of terrorism under US law as a response to Navalny’s killing.
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the term “war on terror” was used under the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF).
Over the fourth of July holiday weekend, Graham suggested that Russia could blow up the Zaporizhzhia nuclear facility, which it had gained control over in its war with Ukraine. He stated in an interview with NewsNation that such an event would lead to a hot war with NATO.
“You cannot irradiate half of Europe and expect NATO to sit on the sidelines,” Graham said.
