81-Year-Old Biden Reports Annual Physical Exam Results Comparable to Last Year’s Healthy Report
President Joe Biden underwent his annual physical examination at a military hospital in suburban Maryland on Wednesday. This assessment is of particular interest as the 81-year-old considers seeking re-election in November.
Biden, dressed in a suit, left the White House early Wednesday for the exam and returned a few hours later. He informed reporters upon his return that the results were consistent with his previous year’s exam.
During last year’s physical examination, doctors deemed Biden healthy and “fit for duty.” They also removed a lesion from his chest and confirmed that he was free of long COVID symptoms following his battle with the virus in 2022.
The White House has announced plans to release a written summary of the Democratic president’s most recent physical examination later in the day.
As Biden, a Democrat, and former Republican President Donald Trump, 77, gear up for a potential rematch in the presidential election on Nov. 5, concerns about their mental faculties have been raised. Trump’s previous rival for the Republican nomination, 52-year-old Nikki Haley, has suggested that both men should undergo cognitive testing due to their age.
In his free time, Biden enjoys golfing and biking. However, his occasional verbal and physical missteps have fueled apprehensions about his age and ability to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the presidency.
