Senator Cruz Tells Newsmax: Republican Party Requires a Leader Committed to Achieving Results
The next Senate Republican leader must prioritize delivering tangible results, fulfilling promises made to the American people, according to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.
When asked if he is nominating himself for the role, Cruz told Newsmax, “It’s still early in the process.”
Cruz stated during an appearance on Newsmax’s “The Chris Salcedo Show” that there will be an extensive discussion over the next few months on choosing the next leader.
He emphasized the need for a Republican Senate majority leader who is willing to collaborate with President Donald Trump, if re-elected, and the Republican House to enact a transformative agenda for Texas and the nation.
Following McConnell’s announcement to step down from his position in November, Cruz acknowledged McConnell’s honorable service despite their policy disagreements.
Cruz noted McConnell’s significant impact in nominating and confirming constitutionalist judges to the federal judiciary, leaving a lasting legacy.
