Rep. Burchett Blames Biden Entirely for Border Crisis in Interview with Newsmax
According to Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., President Joe Biden is solely responsible for the current situation at the southern border, with concerns about drug trafficking and alleged administration deception being emphasized.
During an interview on Newsmax’s “Saturday Report,” Burchett accused Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and his team of providing false information under oath.
He highlighted claims that Mayorkas misled the public and Congress, asserting that the southern border was closed despite a rise in illegal immigrant apprehensions during his term.
One tragic incident mentioned by Burchett was the death of Laken Riley, a nursing student at Augusta University College of Nursing, who was murdered by Jose Antonio Ibarra, an undocumented immigrant. Burchett stressed the need to address such incidents and blamed the Biden administration for ignoring border issues.
Burchett expressed frustration at the lack of action on fentanyl trafficking, stating that hearings were blocked to avoid acknowledging border problems. He emphasized that 100% of the drug comes from the southern border, according to narcotics officers.
Comparing Biden’s leadership to that of former President Donald Trump, Burchett criticized Biden and his administration as dishonest and anarchistic. He called for a strong response from the American people and urged them to elect leaders who will address the crisis before it’s too late.
He warned that failure to act could result in the destruction of fundamental American values, urging citizens to take action at the polls to prevent this outcome.
