Nikki Haley Will Not Be Constrained by RNC Pledge to Endorse GOP Nominee

GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley stated on Sunday that she does not feel obligated by the pledge she made to the Republican National Committee last year to support the eventual GOP presidential nominee. She emphasized that she is not considering losing her race at this point.

In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Haley expressed her views on the endorsement process, stating, “I think I’ll make what decision I want to make, but that’s not something I’m thinking about. If you talk about an endorsement, you’re talking about a loss. I don’t think like that. When you’re in a race, you don’t think about losing. You think about continuing to go forward.”

When asked about her stance on a potential Trump endorsement, Haley suggested that voters should know how he feels about supporting her first. She emphasized that her focus is on reaching voters and winning the race.

Despite not directly commenting on a potential Trump endorsement, Haley criticized the current state of the nation, calling for new leadership to address the country’s challenges.

Regarding Trump’s Supreme Court case seeking presidential immunity, Haley expressed her opposition to the idea of a president being above the law. She stressed the need for ethical leadership and a government that respects taxpayers’ money.

Haley further criticized the lack of vision from both Trump and President Joe Biden, mentioning the need for better options for voters.

She also addressed issues related to fertility treatments and abortion laws, advocating for state-level decisions on these matters.

At the same time, Haley criticized the Republican National Committee and its alignment with Trump, noting changes in leadership within the organization.
