Haley’s Victory in Vermont Halts Trump’s Sweep

Nikki Haley managed to break Donald Trump’s clean sweep of Super Tuesday by winning in Vermont, as reported by Decision Desk HQ.

With 99% of precincts reporting, Haley defeated Trump with 50% to 46.2% of the vote, earning the state’s 17 delegates.

Prior to this victory, Haley had only won one other primary in the District of Columbia over the weekend, where she also defeated Trump. However, she was not successful in any other races on Tuesday except for Vermont.

Gov. Phil Scott of Vermont had endorsed Haley leading up to Super Tuesday.

Despite this win, Trump’s advisors are confident that he will secure enough delegates to eliminate Haley from the race by March 19, when two-thirds of states will have voted.
