Katie Britt to Label Biden as ‘Diminished Leader’ in GOP Rebuttal to State of the Union Address

Sen. Katie Britt is set to deliver a scathing Republican rebuttal to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, calling him a “dithering and diminished leader” in excerpts of her prepared remarks released before both speeches.

Britt, a young Alabama Republican senator, will criticize Biden’s leadership, expressing concern that the country is “slipping away” under his administration.

Elected in 2022 with the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, Britt is known for her role as an adviser to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and her experience on the Senate Appropriations Committee.

This marks the third consecutive year that Republicans have chosen a woman to deliver the post-State of the Union response, following in the footsteps of Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Gov. Kim Reynolds.

In her remarks, Britt will criticize Biden’s handling of domestic and foreign policy issues, including the border crisis, criminal justice, and foreign relations, particularly focusing on the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal and the potential Iran nuclear deal.

She will stress the importance of strong leadership, secure borders, and national defense, emphasizing the need for a change in direction for the country.

While not mentioning Trump directly, Britt’s remarks highlight the Republican Party’s vision for the future and the importance of making the right choices for the next generation.
