Sen. Tuberville Tells Newsmax: Trans Athletes Pose Threat to ‘Nuclear Family’
Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville, a two-time SEC Coach of the Year, expressed to Newsmax his belief that allowing transgender athletes in women’s sports is an assault on the nuclear family.
Senator Tuberville criticized the Biden administration’s stance on transgender athletes in women’s sports, stating on “Eric Bolling The Balance,” “This is an attack on the nuclear family, an attack on gender.”
He continued, “I know the Democrats, even those with daughters and granddaughters, do not support this, but they’re following the party line. This is not a political issue; it is a matter of right and wrong, good versus evil.”
As a former college football coach, Tuberville urged other coaches and ex-players to defend women’s sports.
“Joe Biden has declared that he will not stand up for women, but for those who identify as women, which is incorrect,” Tuberville emphasized.
The senator’s statements on Newsmax come after a “Take Back Title IX” roundtable and debate on Tuesday opposing the Biden administration’s decision to extend protections to biological male athletes in women’s sports.
