Christie Brinkley, Supermodel, discloses skin cancer diagnosis in Entertainment & Arts News


Supermodel Christie Brinkley has disclosed that she has received a skin cancer diagnosis.

At the age of 70, Brinkley, known for her appearances on several Sports Illustrated covers, mentioned that she noticed a mole while accompanying her daughter to a routine check-up.

While applying makeup, Brinkley noticed a “little tiny dot” and initially hesitated to bring it up as it wasn’t her appointment. However, after the doctor examined it, he immediately recommended a biopsy, as Brinkley shared in an Instagram post.

She posted a photo of herself after the surgery with bandages on, along with an image showing her with stitches.

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of non-melanoma skin cancer that originates in the top layer of skin and is often easily treatable, according to the NHS.

The primary causes are exposure to ultraviolet light, which can be from the sun or tanning beds.
