Trump Speeds Up Plans to Redesign RNC, Further Changes on the Horizon

Former President Donald Trump is making significant changes to the Republican National Committee, with two new leaders appointed by Trump himself to oversee the RNC.

Michael Whatley, a Trump ally and chair of the North Carolina Republican Party, has been elected as the RNC’s chair, while Lara Trump, the former president’s daughter-in-law, has been chosen as the co-chair.

Under this new leadership, the RNC has implemented major staffing changes, including hiring new senior leadership, terminating some staffers, and asking others to reapply for their positions, as reported by The Hill.

Some of the key staffing changes include Chris LaCivita, a top adviser on the Trump campaign, overseeing the RNC’s day-to-day operations, and Sean Cairncross serving as the RNC’s chief operating officer. Charlie Spies, a GOP lawyer, will be the chief counsel, while Christina Bobb and Bill McGinley will serve as senior counsel and outside counsel for election integrity, respectively.

In a letter to RNC members obtained by The Hill, Whatley outlined the reasons behind the staffing changes and the plans moving forward, emphasizing efforts to reach out to more voters and focus on election integrity.

Additionally, Whatley mentioned a new focus on organizing communities that are not traditionally considered Republican, as reported by NPR.
