RFK Jr. Says Vice Presidential Selection Will Not Be Influenced by Finances

Robert Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, stated on Tuesday that he would never select a running mate based on their wealth, despite rumors suggesting otherwise.

During an interview with NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo, Kennedy emphasized the importance of engaging young people in politics and addressing the challenges faced by the current generation.

Speculation has been rife about attorney and tech entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan potentially being Kennedy’s running mate. Shanahan recently donated $4 million to the American Values 2024 super PAC to support Kennedy’s Super Bowl ad, and both share common views on challenging the establishment regarding vaccines and environmental health.

While New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was also considered for the role, a source informed Mediaite that he is no longer under consideration.

Kennedy reiterated that wealth would not be a determining factor in his choice for a vice presidential candidate. Shanahan, who has ties to tech, media, and finance through her previous marriage to Google co-founder Sergey Brin, could offer valuable support to Kennedy’s campaign.

Although Kennedy acknowledged speaking with many strong candidates, he intends to announce his official running mate selection next week.
