President Joe Biden is considering implementing “harsh” executive actions for the border as the forthcoming Nov. 5 general election nears.

As per Axios, officials within the administration have indicated that extreme measures are being considered in response to any new trends in a surge of migrants, evident in the data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection which forecasts a record-high influx of migrants this summer. The number of migrants crossing the border has steadily risen since Biden assumed office.

The Biden administration is reportedly assessing the legal, logistical, and political implications of these potential actions.

“The bullet’s in the chamber,” a source close to the matter stated.

Specifically, the proposed orders would prohibit illegal entry into the U.S. by migrants and increase the difficulty of passing the initial asylum-seeking interview.
