Trump Accuses Judge and New York Attorney General of Colluding for Election Interference
Former President Donald Trump has accused the judge in his civil fraud trial and the New York state attorney general of colluding to sabotage his chances of returning to the White House in November.
In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump criticized Judge Arthur Engoron and Attorney General Letitia James for the $454 million judgment in the trial.
Judge Arthur Engoron instructed Trump to report any efforts to obtain a bond to cover the fine before the deadline on Monday.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed outrage at the decision, alleging political bias and interference in his plans to run for President.
He further accused the White House and the Department of Justice of orchestrating the legal actions against him, including the case from the Manhattan district attorney regarding “hush money.”
Trump also claimed that President Joe Biden’s administration is behind the criminal trials, which now include election interference charges from Georgia’s Fulton County A.G. Fani Willis.
Before the recent ruling by Judge Engoron, Trump’s legal team had been appealing to be excused from covering the $454 million judgment, citing potential harm to Trump if the appeal is unsuccessful.
Attorneys representing Trump argued that finding a bond for such a sum was difficult, and James could move to seize Trump’s properties and assets to collect the money if the appeals court does not intervene.
The attorney general has already filed judgments against Trump in Westchester County, New York, where Trump owns several properties.
The fine continues to increase due to accruing interest on the amount.
