Senator Accuses TGA of Overriding Experts in Handling Vaccine Injury Claims

Senator Gerard Rennick, a vocal opponent of vaccination, claims that a ‘TGA whistleblower’ informed him that the Agency is rejecting most vaccine injury claims.

Senator Gerard Rennick made allegations in the Senate that the Therapeutic Goods Administration is denying claims for vaccine injuries even when specialists recommend compensation to the individuals who received COVID-19 vaccinations.

The compensation scheme, administered by Services Australia, provides a way for individuals to seek a one-time payment for vaccine-related harm without going through legal proceedings.

The Scheme aims to compensate for financial losses due to the harm suffered, covering lost wages, out-of-pocket expenses, paid attendant care services, deceased vaccine recipient payments, and funeral costs.

To be eligible for compensation, individuals must meet certain criteria listed on Services Australia’s website, including receiving an approved COVID-19 vaccine, experiencing defined harm, being admitted to the hospital for an eligible clinical condition, incurring expenses of $1,000 or more, among other conditions. The site also lists eligible clinical conditions such as myocarditis and Guillain Barre Syndrome.

To apply for compensation, individuals need their condition verified by a medical specialist in the relevant field and submit medical reports and evidence of expenses for assessment by Services Australia.

Senator’s Claim of ‘Insider’ Information

Senator Rennick shared in the Senate that he had spoken to an ex-TGA insider who played a significant role in creating the compensation scheme.

He criticized the delay in decision-making, stating that Services Australia takes an average of 297 days to provide a decision, leaving claimants unable to work and struggling with serious illnesses.

The senator questioned the TGA’s practice of overriding specialists’ recommendations and expressed concerns about the lack of qualifications of TGA doctors in assessing vaccine injury claims without examining the patients.

He mentioned discussions with unnamed scientists who highlighted the challenges in investigating vaccine injuries due to the inability to take tissue samples from living individuals, leading to uncertainties.

Recognition of Vaccine-Related Deaths

Senator Rennick raised concerns about the TGA’s recognition of only 14 deaths out of 1,000 suspected vaccine-related deaths reported in the country.

He criticized the TGA’s inability to prove that these deaths were not vaccine-related when pressed for evidence.

Additionally, he highlighted 10,000 unexplained excess deaths during the period when COVID-19 vaccines were administered between May and December 2021.

The Epoch Times has reached out to the TGA for a response to these claims.

Discussion on Excess Deaths

RMIT University in Melbourne concluded that excess deaths figures do not indicate vaccines as the cause, and a significant number of deaths were directly due to COVID-19 or other related conditions.

Another analysis by the Actuaries Institute reported a 12 percent increase in excess deaths, mostly among individuals over 65 years of age.

The Institute found that out of the additional 20,000 deaths, a significant portion was attributed to COVID-19, while others were linked to other causes such as heart disease and cancer.

A review by the Parliament’s Finance and Public Administration Committee highlighted challenges faced by Australians in navigating the COVID-19 Vaccine Claims Scheme and recommended a review of the scheme’s eligibility requirements.

This recommendation did not receive majority support.
