Biden and Bernie Sanders are willing to compromise US freedom to appease our adversaries

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) discussed in Foreign Affairs the idea of America relinquishing its position as a symbol of freedom to the rest of the world.

This “America Last” approach supported by many in the country is why the election of Donald Trump in November holds such significance for America and the global community.

Sanders attributes the world’s problems and turmoil to a powerful America, represented by its top-tier military, leading companies, and fundamental beliefs in economic and personal freedom.

It echoes typical socialist-Marxist rhetoric.

To achieve a peaceful and prosperous world, Sanders argues for a reduction in the U.S. military strength, control over private wealth creation, and a shift towards prioritizing global issues over those that directly impact the American people.

While this vision of foreign policy and national security may seem absurd to many, it is a real and potentially dangerous notion.

The resurgence of Marx’s ideology on the radical left has led to these types of ideas being widely accepted.

Under this ideology, personal freedom is sacrificed for the “greater good” as defined by the elite, ultimately leading to totalitarianism, repression, and the degradation of human spirit.

It demands a focus on redistributing wealth and national resources towards radical globalist objectives, assuming that our adversaries will reciprocate. However, this is not the case.

This approach requires America to forfeit its position as a force for global good and succumb to those who wish to see the nation diminished in history.

The actions of the Biden administration have shown the flawed nature of Sanders’ idealistic vision.

John Kerry, Biden’s climate czar, recently made comments implying that if Russia were to reduce emissions, people would view President Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in a more positive light, despite the devastating consequences.

Trump’s firm stance against the Chinese Communist Party has been replaced with a focus on climate change, leading to the CCP approving new coal power projects and benefiting from green subsidies under Biden’s administration.

In Afghanistan, President Biden’s rushed withdrawal, in contrast to the negotiated plan by Trump, resulted in chaos and loss of American lives.

The Iran policy was also reversed by the Biden administration, providing funds to terrorist organizations like Hamas, putting innocent lives at risk.

What Sanders and the Biden administration fail to grasp is the competitive nature of America and the Western world against regimes like China, Russia, and Iran, who dictate the terms of conflict.

Cooperation can only happen once a deterrence model is established to dissuade adversaries from pursuing conflict, as subordinating deterrence to political agendas undermines security.

Relying solely on international institutions does not deter violations or aggression by adversaries, as seen in recent actions by China, Russia, and Iran in international forums.

Enhancing deterrence through partnerships with allies that share common interests is crucial to maintaining peace and security.

The notion that American leadership or its way of life leads to exploitation or poverty is unfounded. American exceptionalism has catalyzed innovations and advancements that have benefitted millions worldwide.

It is imperative not to fall for the false belief that America must compromise its values to appease global interests.

The United States is a positive global force, especially in light of increasing challenges from authoritarian regimes around the world.

It is essential for American leadership to safeguard freedom and security, preventing conflict and promoting prosperity.

It is hoped that on January 21, 2025, President Trump will return to the White House to steer America back on track.
