Relative of Officer Killed: ‘You Have His Blood on Your Hands,’ Hochul told

A family member of slain New York City Police officer Jonathan Diller on Friday blamed Gov. Kathy Hochul for his death, telling her at Diller’s wake, “His blood is on your hands.”

The family member “was going crazy on her,” a source told the New York Post.

“He said, ‘We don’t want you here. You’re not wanted here. You have blood on your hands. If you want to do something, change the bail laws,'” the person added.

Diller, 31, was shot Monday night in the line of duty. He was married and had a 1-year-old son.

He was the first New York City police officer killed in the line of duty in two years.

A procession of New York Police Department officers, on foot and driving motorcycles, escorted the remains of their slain colleague to a Long Island church for his funeral service Saturday.

Police say Diller and his partner were investigating an illegally parked SUV when a passenger in the car, Guy Rivera, shot Diller below his ballistic vest. Diller’s partner returned fire, wounding Rivera.

Adams said at the funeral Saturday that even after he had been shot, Diller fought back and disarmed Rivera.

“He ran towards danger, taking risks, making arrests, and undoubtedly saving lives,” Adams said.

The killing renewed call for Albany to clamp down on bail reform.

“New Yorkers are hitting their breaking point and about to flee. And the people who are in charge, these elected officials, aren’t actually making life in New York any better,” former Rep. Lee Zeldin told Fox News.

Former President Donald Trump attended Diller’s wake and told reporters the country needed to “get back to law and order” and to crack down on violent crime.

“We have to do a lot of things differently. This is not working. This is happening too often,” Trump said.
