Ambassador Friedman Tells Newsmax: Two-State Solution is the Ultimate Solution for Israel’s Jews
The concept of a two-state solution in Israel is more theoretical than practical, according to former Ambassador to Israel David Friedman in an interview with Newsmax on Monday.
In discussing the current situation, Friedman stated that 80% of Palestinians in the West Bank supported recent actions by Hamas and are enthusiastic about the prospect of a Palestinian state. He pointed out that historically, the idea of a two-state solution has not led to lasting peace, citing a significant increase in terrorism in Israel following the Oslo Accords in 1994.
Friedman argued that both Palestinians and Israelis are wary of the two-state solution, as it could potentially result in a terrorist state. He highlighted the challenges faced in Gaza, where funds intended for development and infrastructure have been diverted towards terrorist activities.
