Congressman McClain questions FDA Commissioner Califf about management of infant formula shortage – One America News Network

GOP lawmakers have unveiled evidence that the Biden administration knew about the 2022 infant formula shortage months before it took action to address the crisis.

During a House Oversight Hearing on Thursday, Representative Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) grilled FDA commissioner Robert Califf on emails showing that the agency alerted the White House about a potential formula shortage as early as February.

Despite several White House staffers being made aware of a potential mass shortage, President Biden did not publicly address the issue until May 2022, claiming officials acted as quickly as they learned about it.

McClain pressed Califf on the gap of inaction, but did not get a straight answer from the Biden official.
