Offenders enabled by lenient Democrats allowed sick individual to punch 9-year-old girl

Who would punch a child? And how does a society enable such behavior?

Recently, Jean Carlos Zarzuela was arrested for punching a 9-year-old girl in Grand Central Terminal, causing her pain and dizziness.

Shockingly, this assault could have been prevented if Judge Laurie Peterson had not released Zarzuela without bail after he attacked an elderly woman on April 4.

Peterson has a history of releasing violent criminals back on the streets, including an accused looter who later assaulted a police officer and a defendant accused of assaulting a woman in Greenwich Village who went on to harm more women.

Peterson knowingly puts the public at risk by releasing dangerous suspects like Zarzuela.

Politicians like New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie contribute to this problem by resisting changes to bail laws and dismissing the impact of tougher penalties on crime.

This lenient approach to justice is making New York a safe haven for criminals and a nightmare for law-abiding citizens.

Recent events, including the killing of two police officers near Syracuse and the murder of NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller, highlight the consequences of this flawed system.

New Yorkers must demand accountability from their leaders and prioritize the safety of the community over misguided criminal justice reforms.

If the assault of a 9-year-old girl isn’t enough to provoke change, it’s time for New Yorkers to change their leaders.
