Sunak called on for ‘Calm Heads to Prevail’ during conversation with Netanyahu


Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron expressed that it is appropriate to stand in solidarity with Israel and has called for coordinated sanctions against Iran.

During a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak emphasized the need for calm in Israel’s response to Iran’s recent drone and missile attack. The UK reaffirmed its support for Israel’s security while urging restraint to prevent further escalation of tensions in the region.

In response to the attack on Israel by Iran, the UK joined an international effort led by the United States to intercept the projectiles, with support from France and regional partners like Jordan.

Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron, visiting Israel, expressed support for the country and emphasized the importance of de-escalating the conflict in the region. He also highlighted the need for coordinated sanctions against Iran and discussions on humanitarian issues in Gaza and the West Bank.
