Rep. Murphy Criticizes DOD and Army Leaders for Neglecting Duty on January 6th
Rep. Greg Murphy, R-N.C., told Newsmax Wednesday that both the secretary of defense and the secretary of the Army were “derelict in their duty” on Jan. 6, 2021.
In an interview with “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Murphy stated, “We learned in today’s hearing that they essentially were derelict in their duty. The individuals who came forth and told their story today did so out of courage and patriotism for the country.”
Murphy also mentioned that the then-secretaries of defense and the Army were likely complicit in the events of Jan. 6, 2021.
“The fact that the National Guard was ready to act, but were slow-walked by the secretary of the Army, is concerning,” Murphy said. “The then-secretary of the Army, Ryan McCarthy, declined to attend the hearing, where he would have been under oath and had to answer some hard questions.”
