Franklin Graham Endorses Mike Johnson: ‘I’m a Fan’

The Rev. Franklin Graham commended House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., on Thursday, showing his support on social media and stating that Johnson is doing “the best job he can for our country.”

“I like this guy — we need to pray for him,” Graham wrote in a Facebook post.

Graham’s endorsement comes at a challenging time for Johnson, who is facing criticism from various sources, including members of his own party, for his decisions on funding the government and changing his stance on a foreign aid package.

“Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has a tough job, and not everyone will agree with every decision he makes. There are individuals in Washington who are out to criticize him. He is striving to do his best for our country,” wrote the leader of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Recently, House Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., called for Johnson’s resignation and pledged support for Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene’s motion to vacate. House conservatives accuse Johnson of prioritizing Democrats’ interests over those of Republicans.
