Representative D’Esposito Calls Negotiating with Columbia Protesters ‘Ridiculous,’ Tells Newsmax

Rep. Anthony D’Esposito, R-N.Y., expressed his disapproval to Newsmax on Wednesday regarding the ongoing negotiations between Columbia University’s administration and pro-Palestinian protesters causing disruptions at the school.

On Wednesday morning, Columbia released a statement stating that progress is being made in discussions with the students on the West lawn encampment and that conversations will continue for the next 48 hours.

D’Esposito criticized the university’s handling of the situation, emphasizing the fear of Jewish students and denouncing the protesters chanting anti-Israel and anti-America slogans in support of terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah. He called for the removal of the encampment and a return to normalcy at the prestigious educational institution.

He also called out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., for describing the protests as “peaceful,” highlighting the violence and unrest observed at the scene.
