Emerson Poll shows Gallego ahead of Lake in Arizona Senate Race
According to a recent poll by Emerson College Polling/The Hill, just over 45% of Arizona’s registered voters support Democrat Rep. Ruben Gallego over Republican Kari Lake, who is backed by slightly more than 43% in the state’s Senate race.
Gallego’s lead of just over 2 points falls within the poll’s margin of error of 3 percentage points.
Here is a breakdown of the poll results released on Tuesday:
- 45.3% support Gallego, while 43.1% back Lake.
- 87.4% of Democrats support Gallego, while 80% of Republicans back Lake.
- 15% of GOP voters support Gallego, and 6.5% of Democrats support Lake.
- 27.9% believe immigration is the most important issue in Arizona, followed by the economy at 24.7%, and abortion at 12.4%.
- 83% of those who prioritize immigration support Lake, while 13% back Gallego.
- 50% of those prioritizing the economy support Lake, with 32% supporting Gallego.
- 89% of those focusing on abortion support Gallego, while 6% back Lake.
The poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters in Arizona from April 25-29.
