An individual was captured after attempting to enter Drake’s residence.
This incident occurred one day after the security guard of the Grammy-winning rapper was shot outside his home in Toronto.
According to Toronto Police, “officers responded to a call regarding an individual trying to gain access to the property.”
The person was apprehended under the mental health act and was taken for medical attention.
A source familiar with Drake’s property stated to NBC News that “the individual did not break in. They were immediately stopped at the gate by security and handed over to the police.”
Police clarified that the recent incident is unrelated to the shooting case.
Although the exact location of the attempted break-in was not disclosed, police confirmed that it happened at the same place where Drake’s security guard was shot the previous day.
The shooting took place early on Tuesday morning, around 2am local time (7am UK time).
The security guard, who was positioned outside the property’s gates, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after the incident.
A suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, as reported by authorities.
