Michael Cohen, known as “Mr. Fix-It,” delivers disappointing testimony in court, fails to provide incriminating evidence against Trump

Michael Cohen seems to be interested in a reality show, but based on his testimony on Monday, it seems that reality is about to hit not only Cohen, but also the prosecutors and the court.

In hyping his own appearance, the former Trump advisor promised the public that they should be “prepared to be surprised.”

However, up to this point, Cohen has not provided anything new and, most importantly, nothing to support Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case.

Right before he testified, it was revealed by the New York Post that Cohen has been trying to sell a reality show called “The Fixer,” in collaboration with Colin Whelan, who worked on “Joe Exotic: Tigers, Lies and Cover-Up.” Whelan seems to have an interest in staying within that genre.

The Cohen pitch included a cheesy promo video where he assured viewers, “I am your fixer.”

His first post-Trump client, Bragg, may have a different opinion.

Cohen’s only advantage for Bragg was his notorious flexible morals and ethics, allowing him to say just about anything to support his sponsors.

With the prosecution’s case nearing its end, Bragg needed Cohen to plainly state that Trump intentionally committed fraud to hide a still unclear crime.

The issue is that Cohen only confirmed that Trump knew he would pay for the nondisclosure agreement and that it would be kept hidden before the election. None of which is illegal.

In his reality show promo, Cohen claims to be there to solve viewers’ problems because “the little guy doesn’t usually have access to people with my particular set of skills.”

However, those skills seem to have eluded all the witnesses forced to work with him.

Witnesses described how Cohen was mocked as someone “prone to exaggeration” and unprofessional.

Former Trump associate Hope Hicks mentioned that Cohen was constantly trying to insert himself into the campaign and that he “used to like to call himself Mister Fix It, but it was only because he first broke it.”

Cohen only confirmed that he arranged the payment and advised Trump to proceed with it.

He assured Trump that it would effectively put an end to the story before the election.

None of this is illegal. The “Fix it man” convinced Trump it was resolved and now wants Trump to be prosecuted for complying with that advice.

During his testimony, Cohen also admitted to secretly recording his client, a significant breach of trust and confidentiality.

This is the individual who, according to Stormy Daniels’ lawyer, Keith Davidson, anticipated becoming Trump’s Attorney General.

Davidson mentioned that Cohen was “depressed and despondent” and “I thought he was going to harm himself” when he realized he would not be appointed to a cabinet position.

Cohen contradicted Davidson and claimed he only wanted to be Trump’s personal lawyer.

He also acknowledged being unaware that National Enquirer’s publisher, David Pecker, had been suppressing negative stories about Trump and other celebrities for years.

Cohen has yet to fix the issue for Bragg.

More significantly, he has exacerbated the problem for Judge Juan Merchan. Many of us have criticized this case as lacking any criminal activity.

In fact, Merchan has allowed the prosecutors to proceed without clearly stating what crime was being concealed.

It is not evident why paying a lawyer a lump sum for services and expenses (including the NDA payment) was not considered a “legal expense” or how it was meant to be recorded on a business ledger.

Unless there’s a sudden breakthrough in his final testimony on Tuesday, Merchan should consider ruling in favor of a directed verdict — dismissing the case before it goes to a jury. If he opts to send this ludicrous case to the jury, it could be Merchan, not Cohen, who might have a stronger claim to a reality show as the ultimate “Fix It Man.”
