Senator Tuberville urges Newsmax to advocate for Trump
According to Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., in an interview with Newsmax on Wednesday, someone needs to speak up on behalf of former President Donald Trump due to the gag order imposed on him by the New York judge overseeing his criminal trial.
In an appearance on “National Report” , Tuberville explained that he and other Republicans traveled to New York earlier this week to support Trump during his trial related to falsifying business records to conceal a payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. Tuberville pointed out that the gag order applies to President Trump but not to him or other politicians.
Tuberville criticized the trial as a “one-way circus” with a corrupt judge and a key witness who was allegedly bribed to testify against Trump. He emphasized the importance of speaking out on Trump’s behalf, as the gag order does not cover politicians like himself.
The senator observed that prosecutors were trying to demonstrate Trump’s wrongdoing, but he expressed doubt that the jurors believed the accusations against the former president. Tuberville also criticized the credibility of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, who admitted to lying in the past.
