Rep. Tiffany Urges Newsmax to Release Biden Tapes for Public Viewing
On Newsmax Thursday, Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., highlighted the significance of transparency in releasing the audio of President Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur.
“What does the Biden family, what does President Biden, what does the White House have to hide? Let’s provide the American people with complete information, including those audio tapes,” he said during an appearance on “American Agenda.”
Tiffany emphasized that the American people deserve access to the truth, stating, “For me, it’s simply a matter of ensuring that the American people see and hear the truth in its raw form, so they can make their own decisions.”
President Biden’s use of executive privilege on Thursday to withhold audio recordings of his interviews with special counsel Robert Hur has sparked controversy and raised concerns about transparency limits in the current administration.
Tiffany criticized the decision, questioning the administration’s intentions, and said, “So, it really makes one believe that they are trying to conceal something.”
Tiffany also expressed worries about Biden’s mental state, suggesting that the tapes could reveal signs of cognitive decline.
He commented, “We see him, and he’s clearly a man in decline with diminished cognitive ability. Will this be evident in these audio tapes? I think that’s the White House’s biggest fear.”
“I have been mentioning audio and video as well,” Tiffany added, “and people have been telling me it’s just audio. But if there’s also video, I can understand why they would not want that released at this time.”
“We see his performance,” he continued. “We see his performance at the podium, especially in the last six months, and I would be very concerned if I were the White House about the president answering these questions.”
The House Judiciary Committee’s vote to move forward with contempt proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland further escalated tensions. Garland’s refusal to release the recordings has drawn criticism from Republican lawmakers.
Despite the increasing pressure, Tiffany expressed doubt about Garland’s response, stating, “Will he do his job impartially? Because if he does, he will advise the president to release these tapes.”
