Rep. Salazar speaks to Newsmax: The Entire Nation, not just Trump, is on Trial

Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar is showing her support for former President Donald Trump in the Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday. Speaking to Newsmax, she expressed concerns about the happenings in the courthouse.

Salazar emphasized that it’s not just Trump on trial, but the entire country is being prosecuted. She believes that the same forces manipulating the court against him could target others in the future.

Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen was the final prosecution witness on Monday, and it remains uncertain if Trump’s lawyers will summon any witnesses to testify.

The trial will take a break on Wednesday and resume after the Memorial Day holiday. The jury could begin deliberating on the 34 felony counts charging Trump with falsifying business records related to hush money payments before the 2016 election.

Salazar criticized the trial as a “political trial” and urged people to see beyond their opinions of Trump. She believes the biased media coverage will have lasting consequences.

Salazar argues that the trial mirrors political tactics from other countries where her constituents come from, like Cuba and Venezuela. She predicts a strong Republican base support for Trump in the upcoming election.

Salazar highlighted the need for people to vote based on issues like the economy, energy, and foreign policy. She urged Republicans to vote in large numbers to make their voices heard.
