Israel’s Minister Dermer Sends Condolences to Iranian People in Interview with Newsmax

According to reports, Secretary of State Antony Blinken defended the Biden Administration’s decision to offer condolences to Iran after the death of its president, Ebrahim Raisi, in a helicopter crash, stating that it was “a normal course of business.”

Former Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer, a member of Israel’s War Cabinet, expressed a different perspective during an interview with Newsmax on Tuesday.

Dermer emphasized offering condolences to the Iranian people who have suffered under the oppressive regime for the last five decades. He highlighted the regime’s history of terrorizing its own people, spreading terror, and carrying out attacks against Americans and American interests.

Dermer extended his condolences to the Iranian people and expressed hope for their freedom so that a better relationship between Iran and the U.S. can be established.

Dermer suggested using a strategy similar to Ronald Reagan’s approach during the Cold War to support the Iranian people in their quest for freedom from the oppressive regime.

He emphasized the importance of reaching out directly to the Iranian people and building partnerships to support their aspirations for freedom and peace.
