Lanny Davis tells Newsmax that a conviction can be achieved without relying on Michael Cohen
According to former Cohen attorney Lanny Davis speaking to Newsmax on Tuesday, Michael Cohen’s testimony, tainted by his conviction for perjury, may not be necessary for the New York prosecution in President Trump’s case.
Davis highlighted that during his live TV appearance on February 27, 2019, Cohen confessed to lying and expressed remorse, stating that he wants to make amends for his actions for the sake of his family and country. This acknowledgment of dishonesty is already known and admitted by Cohen.
Despite Cohen’s admission of overcharging the Trump Organization, claiming he deserved more money, Davis argued that this detail is insignificant. He stated, “anyone who believes in the prosecution’s case – as I do based on the evidence – does not require Michael Cohen’s credibility for the jury to convict. There is separate evidence that can prove the charges.”
