Representative Good Tells Newsmax: Biden’s Open Border Policies Causing Irreparable Damage

Rep. Bob Good, R-Va., was part of the 262 House members, including 52 Democrats, who voted in favor of legislation that prohibits noncitizens from voting in District of Columbia elections.

Good, speaking to Newsmax before the vote, criticized President Joe Biden’s open-border policies for their negative impact on the United States.

“Joe Biden and the Democrats believe that everyone worldwide has the right to come to America, legally or illegally,” said Good, who leads the conservative House Freedom Caucus, in an interview with “Newsline.” “Regardless of how they arrive, they should be embraced and welcomed.”

“In contrast to President Trump, who implemented secure border measures that were effective, Joe Biden is providing free health care, travel, housing, education, and social services to these undocumented immigrants. He has caused significant harm to the country.”

The House bill preventing noncitizens from voting in D.C. elections passed with a 262-148 vote. This legislation is a response to the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act passed by the Democrat-led D.C. Council in 2022, allowing noncitizens to participate in local elections. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, D.C.’s delegate to the House who was excluded from voting, criticized the House for approving the bill.

“Under Joe Biden, everyone in the country is worse off, except for illegal aliens who have entered due to Biden’s border policies,” Good stated. “If we secure the border now, only time will reveal the extent of harm caused by Biden’s actions. It is unfathomable for a president to deliberately harm his own country in such a manner.”
