Kennedy Criticizes Removal of Confederate Monuments

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has expressed his disapproval of the removal of Confederate statues, stating that he strongly opposes the destruction of monuments honoring southern leaders from the Civil War.

In an interview on the Timcast IRL, hosted by conservative podcaster Tim Pool, Kennedy praised the leadership qualities of top Confederate general Robert E. Lee, emphasizing the need to celebrate them.

Kennedy defended individuals in the Confederacy who did not own slaves, arguing against the erasure of history and advocating for the celebration of positive attributes in all individuals.

Rejecting the idea of celebrating only those who are “completely virtuous,” Kennedy highlighted the importance of acknowledging and accepting the complexities of history.

Known for taking controversial stands, Kennedy is aiming to build a coalition of Americans disaffected with the major political parties as an independent presidential candidate.

While activists have long advocated for the removal of Confederate monuments, Kennedy believes in the importance of recognizing and understanding the actions of past ancestors, even if they are now considered immoral or wrong.
